About the Event

Florida is at a crossroads. Our most marginalized communities, including LGBTQ+ people, women, people of color, and immigrants, have watched their fundamental freedoms be stripped away one by one.


LGBTQ+ Californians were in a similarly dark moment in November 2008 when Proposition 8, a measure that banned same sex marriage, narrowly passed in a statewide election. Instead of accepting defeat, thousands of Californians came to the middle of their state to stand in solidarity with one another, build community, and commit to fighting back. Within just a few years, LGBTQ+ people in California regained the right to marry who they love.


It’s time for all Floridians who believe in equality and freedom to “Meet in the Middle” of our state and rally together with the HOPE of building a Florida all can call home
